Environmental Field Technician
Results Statement
Accountable for producing the following results:
Performing a variety of tasks associated with industrial waste clean-up, site remediation and emergency spill response. A majority of the work is performed in confined space or elevated area utilizing water blasting equipment.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for properly wearing and displaying all standard and assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) that includes, locks, metatarsal boots, hard hats, safety glasses and ear plugs, pants and long sleeve shirts, while on the job site.
- Must understand and sign off on all OSHA sheets at the beginning of the day.
- Must be aware of their surroundings to ensure a safe environment for themselves and fellow employees.
- Responsible for getting all materials and equipment from the job trailer
- When working with any potential hazardous energy source, the employee must use the L.O.T.O (Lock out- Tag out) with their individual key.
- Ensure that all sources of energy have been turned off
- Pressure washing, water blasting and vacuuming the work environment.
- Ensure that all trash and debris has been cleaned up and disposed of in the proper containers and all equipment materials have been returned to the equipment trailer
- Restock any supplies used during the day
- Support all operations to include, but not limited to tank cleaning, remedial work, emergency response, pressure washing, moving of drums, operate company equipment in a safe manner, work in confined spaces, work at elevated heights
- Must be able to travel as required
- Must be able to work overtime as required
- Individual must be able to don PPE including respirators and full protective suits
- Required to stand for long periods of time, lift 75 lbs or more within an unrestricted range of motion
Essential Skills & Experience:
- High School Diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license from your state of residence.
- Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record and possess verifiable experience
- Must meet all Federal and State requirements for certification including a pre-employment alcohol and controlled substances screen and meet the medical standards of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation
- Must possess the ability to read, write in English, perform mathematical calculations to accurately and legibly complete required paperwork.
- Must possess good oral communication skills, and be able to follow instructions and take direction by various means of communication.

Truck Driver – CDL A or B (HAZMAT & TANKER)
Results Statement:
I am accountable for producing the following results: Picking-up, unloading, documenting, securing and transporting waste in a safe manner within the Midwest region, according to DOT, EPA & OSHA regulations as well as Midwest policies and procedures.
Support all operations to include industrial cleaning and emergency spill response.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs truck inspection and daily maintenance.
- Responsible for keeping trucks fueled and supplied for the next job.
- Operates MIDWEST designated truck to pick up hazardous or non-hazardous waste from customer facilities, emergency spill sites, etc.
- Understanding proper loading procedures, including weights, temperature requirements, packaging requirements, labels, and proper route sequencing.
- Load and/or unload truck at pick-up site and/or delivery site.
- Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, load locks, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
- Transports waste safely to various facilities.
- Completes trip and fuel usage reports.
- Completes worksheets for each job and submit to your supervisor at the end of each day.
- Completes DVIR’s and Logs daily and submit to your supervisor every Monday.
- Prioritizing time to complete deliveries daily.
- Support all operations to include, but not limited to, tank cleaning, remedial work and emergency spill response.
- Must be able to work irregular schedules, long hours including weekends and holidays, with the availability to report to work at all times on a short notice.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- High School Diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s license, Class A or B with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements from your state of residence.
- Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record and possess verifiable experience or acceptable training
- Must meet all Federal and State requirements for certification including a pre-employment alcohol and controlled substances screen and meet the medical standards of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation
- Must possess the ability to read, write in English, perform mathematical calculations to accurately and legibly complete required paperwork to include freight bills, and receipts, maintain logs, and read maps, and road signs.
- Must possess good oral communication skills, and be able to follow instructions and take direction by various means of communication.
- Possess an extensive background in the operation of the fleet when performing industrial cleaning and emergency spill response.
- Training related to safety and health in compliance with OSHA and company policies, environmental compliance with EPA standards Overall knowledge of all fields related to services provided by the company
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approach to problems.
- Ability to develop/train team members, work independently on assigned tasks, as well as accept direction on given assignments.
- Employees will be subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing per DOT requirements.
